Jose Diaz. 1916 – 1918
Jose passed away during an unfortunate accident.

My Cousin, Becky Carpio told me at her 80th birthday celebration, that Concha told her what happened to Jose. She said Concha had to go into an office building in El Paso, Texas and she left the two boys watching Jose outside. He was swaddled in blankets, and they believe he got overheated and died in the El Paso heat. So sad.
Update: After further discussion and further study of the records, we have concluded that Jose had to die in Mexico, most likely in Mapimi. Manuel tells us Jose died “shortly after Elaine was born.” Since Elaine was born in October of 2018, we are thinking it was maybe January to March of 2019. Possibly placing Elaine at 6 months old when he died.
